3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security practices. We use Supabase as our backend infrastructure provider, which employs enterprise-grade security measures including encryption at rest and in transit. While we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities within 72 hours as required by applicable law.
4. Payment Information
Payments for paid subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our third-party payment processor and Merchant of Record. Your email address and billing information are shared with Lemon Squeezy for the purpose of processing payments. When you subscribe, the payment provider collects your name, email address, billing address, and payment method details (such as card or wallet information). This payment data is processed directly by the payment provider; Sclera does not receive or store your full card number or other sensitive payment credentials. The payment provider is responsible for processing payments, issuing invoices and receipts, handling refunds and chargebacks, and complying with anti-fraud and financial regulations. Sclera receives only limited billing information from the payment provider, such as your subscription status, plan, billing period dates, and a customer identifier, which we use to provision your plan and display your billing status. We retain billing and transaction records for as long as required to meet our tax, accounting, and legal obligations, which is typically up to seven years, even if you delete your account. The payment provider's handling of your personal data is governed by its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.
5. Analytics and Error Tracking
We use PostHog for analytics and error-tracking services to monitor the performance and reliability of the Service. These services may collect usage data such as page views, feature interactions, browser type, and device information. When errors occur, diagnostic data including error messages, stack traces, and browser state may be sent to our error-tracking provider to help us identify and resolve issues. This data is used solely to improve the Service and is not shared for advertising purposes.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances: (a) with service providers who assist in operating the Service, specifically Supabase (database and authentication), PostHog (analytics), and Lemon Squeezy (payment processing, which receives your email address and billing information); (b) when required by law or to respond to legal process; (c) to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sclera, our users, or others; or (d) with your explicit consent.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We use essential cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. We also use analytics cookies (via PostHog) to understand how the Service is used. You can manage your cookie preferences through the cookie banner displayed when you first visit the site. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to: (a) access the personal data we hold about you; (b) request correction of inaccurate data; (c) request deletion of your data; (d) object to or restrict processing of your data; (e) export your data in a portable format; and (f) lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe your data protection rights have been violated. 9. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes (such as billing records, which may be retained for up to seven years).
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 16 without parental consent, we will delete that data promptly. 11. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed and stored in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States and the European Union, where our service providers (Supabase and PostHog) operate.
